Preparing for Climate Change Workshop #3 for Seabrook, Hampton Falls, and Hampton: Sea Level Affecting Marsh Migration

Who: Community members of Hampton, Hampton Falls, and Seabrook, including residents, businesses, town boards, staff and officials

When: September 10, 2014; 6-7:30pm

Where: Hampton Falls Fire Department (3 Drinkwater Rd, Hampton Falls)

What: Learn about a model that shows how local salt marshes are likely to be affected by sea level rise, how it works, and what types of decisions it can generally inform. Work in small groups to discuss how this information can be applied to local issues (land acquisition, infrastructure considerations, ordinance development, etc).

This project is led by a local steering committee including members of the Seabrook-Hamptons Estuary Alliance. There is no cost to the communities participating. This project was funded by a federal grant from NOAA’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management under the Coastal Zone Management Act in conjunction with the NH Department of Environmental Services Coastal Program.
