And the King Tide NH 2016 Photo Contest Winners Are…

The New Hampshire Coastal Adaptation Workgroup is thrilled to announce the four prize-winning photos and photographers from the NH King Tide 2016 Photo Contest. We had 135 photo entries this year! These photos paint a picture of what we can expect to see more frequently with sea-level rise in the future. Thanks to all who participated, to our independent panel of judges, and to the local businesses who provided stellar prizes for this year’s winners, including Summer Sessions, Flatbread Company, Row 34, The Music Hall, Portsmouth Kayak Adventures, the Seacoast Science Center, Atlantic Whale Watch, Live Free Photography, and the Rockingham Planning Commission! A selection of photos will be displayed at locations around the Seacoast through the winter, starting at White Heron Tea and Adelle’s Coffeehouse. Stay tuned to see more of the photo contest submissions on the blog in the coming days.

FIRST place winner: Dan Gobbi

By Dan Gobbi; 1st Place Winner; Entitled: Water Water Everywhere, Nor Any Drop to Drink. Dan said: When I took the photo with a old Canon T3i and a 8mm lens all I thought about was with the state in a severe drought there was no lack of sea water during this King Tide. I only wish it was fresh water instead filling all the ponds, lakes and rivers for all the people and animals that desperately need fresh water. Bring on the November rain.
